Our Story
ACE Foundation - Est. 2019
After years of traveling the world, Phil Calvert realized he wanted to do something to make it easier for young people to have access to the transformative experience of travel. He decided to launch ACE Foundation, a donations-based non-profit that helps facilitate passports for kids in communities like the one he grew up in, and inspire them to get out and see the world. He has big dreams for this organization, and many new initiatives on the horizon to strengthen communities through working with young people. Phil Calvert
founder
Even though the ACE Foundation was founded by Phil Calvert in the summer of 2019, it had been in the works for years. As a kid growing up in Milwaukee’s 53206 zip code, Phil would spin the globe his parents brought home from the flea market and imagine what it would be like to visit other countries. He’d stop the globe with his finger and say, “I’m going there!” wherever it landed. He wouldn’t get his first passport until his early 20’s, though!
Fast-forward a few decades, and Phil has traveled to 65 countries and counting, both as a travel enthusiast and in a professional capacity. Throughout his travels, he used Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube as a way to inspire people to get out and see the world. With time, this led to further opportunities for travel through collaborations with airlines, hostels and sightseeing companies. He even got his own travel show on the Matador Network, called Phil Good Travel. Here’s a little trailer:
Phil’s mission is to spread positivity, and help make the travel opportunities that first came to him as an adult, possible for young people.
